About Me

I grew up in a family of serious wine drinkers with an older brother to teach me about video games and science fiction. Wine has always been a part of family gatherings and celebrations. Many of the wines I sampled in my younger days were French, so I have serious weakness for Burgundy. However, I don't always have the pocketbook to match my love of French Pinot Noir. Once I began branching out, I discovered a whole world of inexpensive, but still awesome wine. I firmly believe you don't have to spend a fortune to find an excellent bottle. Choosing a good bottle of wine at a restaurant or store can be intimidating.  On top of that, wine reviews are not always helpful.  There are adjectives and phrases that frighten and confuse me when applied to wine!  This is what drove me to start Raptor Wines. Raptor was a childhood nickname (don't ask!), and I am determined to patrol grocery and convenience stores to bring you the scoop on wine! However, I do occasionally splurge on a more expensive bottle (emphasis on occasionally), and because I talk way too much, I am going to tell you all about those too!
